Samsung Galaxy S III to skip Android 4.2.2, go directly to 4.3?

At the recent Deutsche Telekom forum in Germany, the carrier’s representative said that Samsung’s Galaxy S III (model number GT-i9300) would not be updated to Android 4.2.2, instead getting the latest 4.3 Jelly Bean build.

And apparently, Galaxy S III will not be the only “destined” for this path, with Galaxy Note II also getting the same treatment.

Of course, this could be limited to the German market, but we doubt that will be the case. If Samsung does skip Android 4.2.2 in one country, we tend to think all other phone variants will follow suit. We’ll make sure to keep our eyes wide open and let you know as soon as we have something new to add to the story. Stay tuned in the meantime…
