Apple may indeed be working on a smaller iPhone, a report at MobileWorldLive is suggesting. If this proves true, the Cupertino-based company will end up with a single product line in three sizes.
According to MacWorld, the iPhone 5s is still selling well despite the fact that iPhone 6 has been on the market for a few months.
Cook & Co. are apparently looking to cover multiple price points and eventually have a compelling offering for users in the emerging markets of the world.
It is said that the next, smaller iPhone will have a 4-inch display with Apple adding TouchID fingerprint sensor and NFC chip to the mix, expanding the availability of its mobile payment service to many additional customers.
The release date is reportedly slated for the spring of next year when we may also see the iPad Air Plus launching.
Considering the lower price point and focus on emerging markets, there’s a chance this iPhone 6c — or however it ends-up being known — will sell in more units than the regular iPhone 6. We’ll see how that goes.
