Verizon Wireless and AT&T will soon start selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 Developer Edition. Both versions of the device have been caught at Sammy’s website (links: here and here) and now it seems all about proper timing. As far as we’ve understood, this isn’t the same phone as the Galaxy S4 Google Edition and it will still come with Sammy’s own software running on top of Android core. Sure enough, you’ll get unlocked bootloader with the ability to tweak everything the way you please. The downside(s)? 1) You’ll only be … Read more
Verizon customers have been given the short end of the stick lately. Not only have they been waiting patiently for the HTC One to come to the carrier, they are the last in the line of the major U.S. carriers to receive the Samsung Galaxy S4. And after today’s “big announcement” from Verizon, customers of the carrier need a little cheering up. Here’s some news that should take that bad taste out of Verizon customer’s mouths; the Galaxy S4 is available on Amazon for the low price of $179 with … Read more
Verizon’s CTIA event was dominated by J Lo and the big announcement of the new, Latino focused Viva Movil Network. But they did drop an interesting tidbit early on. COO Marni Walden announced that Verizon’s 4G LTE network now covers 497 markets, which is 95% of its 3G network. Verizon’s stated goal is to cover 100% of its 3G network with 4G by the end of 2013, but the company’s on track to finish well before that. Full disclosure: I have Verizon and I’m (finally!) getting a 4G phone, so I’m … Read more
Today Verizon announced a new partnership with J-Lo to announce Viva Movil – A phone retailer offered specifically to the Latino population. With the Latino population growing faster than ever, it certainly doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see a partnership like this form. While we think it’s a smart partnership, this is hardly the announcement that we were expecting to see come from Verizon this CTIA. At best, we were hoping to see a Voice Over LTE announcement or something to that extent and what we got … Read more

Verizon scored 73 points, while Sprint came in second place scoring 71 points; AT&T came in third followed by T-Mobile taking the fourth spot. It’ll be interesting to see how things change next year, especially given how T-Mobile just recently changed its whole … Read more
Verizon announced today that the Galaxy S4 will be available on May 23rd, a full week before the previous release date of May 30 but still nearly a month later than other carriers. Verizon customers (myself included) have gotten used to waiting a little longer for the new, hot phones and this time is no exception. Verizon’s been accepting pre orders for the new Galaxy phones but they weren’t to ship until the 30th. So whatever finagling they’ve done to bump things up a week, it’s greatly appreciated! Here’s the text of … Read more
