It’s marked as Zeemote V3 and it’s especially optimized to work with Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) handsets — including the upcoming Yari, Aino and Satio, as well as the eco-friendly Naite.

In addition to providing easier gameplay, the Zeemote V3 can also be used for navigating phone menus, interacting with apps, controlling camera, web surfing, music and video playback, and more. Plus, with the Aino you can use the Zeemote to control some functions of the PS3…

Altec Lansing Orbit-M is a powerful little speaker!

In Accessories, Hardware

Altec Lansing was pretty busy last month – as well as the InMotion Classic, they have also been building out their Orbit range of speakers. The Orbit-M (connecting via 3.5mm jack), and the Orbit USB (USB connection surprisingly enough) are ultra-portable, yet have a surprisingly bug sound field too!
The Orbit boasts Altec Lansing’s Audio Alignment™ design, which is the precise balance and craftsmanship of the key audio components — the driver, the enclosure and the electronics. The sonic result is astounding volume, clarity and depth in a small system. The circular shape provides a 360-degree sound field and the retractable stand aims the audio wherever wanted. Built to survive tough travel conditions, the Orbit USB includes a stylish neoprene case with hook-on carabiner as well as tangle-free cord storage.
The Altec Lansing Orbit-M is £29.99, and the Orbit-USB is £9.99 – you can get them both from www.alteclansing.com. For more information on the complete autumn 2009 audio collection from Altec Lansing, visit www.alteclansing.com – there’s also a review of the Orbit-M due soon!

altec lansing inmotion classic Altec Lansing InMotion Classic brings quality portable audio to the table

Altec Lansing introduced the newest member of its inMotion family last month, neatly entitled the inMotion® Classic – it’s designed for iPhone as well as iPod, and includes an FM radio tuner. Its also packing a rechargeable battery, and is apparently “engineered for portability and versatility, so music enthusiasts can groove anywhere without missing a beat”.There’s also a neat multi-function handle serves three important roles: swing up for grab-and-go transport, swing back as a kickstand, and swing under to stow away and turn off the battery.
“Works with iPhone” certification means interference-free listening, eliminating the need to switch the iPhone to airplane mode. iPhone and iPod devices are automatically charged when the inMotion Classic is plugged into a power outlet.
The inMotion Classic’s advanced remote control features full menu navigation for iPhone and iPod, allowing users to browse artists, songs and playlists directly from the remote.  The high-contrast LCD always lets you know the song details from afar.
The inMotion Classic utilizes proprietary Audio Alignment™ craftsmanship to deliver a balanced, authentic sound. Expanded Sound Stage technology enhances the stereo listening experience by widening the sound field at the touch of a button. Custom-built, dual 3-inch neodymium drivers throw out clear, powerful sound with the quality that Altec Lansing fans have come to expect.
The Altec Lansing inMotion Classic (iMT620) will be available from October at Amazon.com, John Lewis and www.alteclansing.com. RRP is £129.99

Review: Iqua Smart Badge Bluetooth Headset

iqua 0 Review: Iqua Smart Badge Bluetooth HeadsetSo, once in a while I get to sit down and do a review on a gadget – rather than taking an App for a spin, or checking out the industry news, it’s nice to play with something tactile. And when I do get my hands on my review gadget, I do like to spend time with a good one – which I think I’ve managed to get in this case!

The gadget in question is the Iqua Smart Badge Bluetooth Headset – which is a combined Badge holder, and Bluetooth headset in one (I guess you might have figured that out from the picture!). Now if you spend a lot of your working time in the corporate environment, you’ll know badges are very commonplace as a method of access control, and the staff in many organisations are required to display one at all time when on the premises – so the thought of combining badge-wearing with a Bluetooth headset is a good one – especially given that many companies offer a company phone to connect to.

‘Tilt’ Headset Concept from Ryan Parry

tilt 1 Tilt Headset Concept from Ryan Parry

Here’s a really groovy design concept for those with disabilities. Designer Ryan Parry (together with GlobiGames Ltd) has come up with a new headset design that would allow users to navigate through menus, answer or end calls, and much more… All by moving one’s head front-to-back and side-to-side. The concept is dubbed ‘Tilt’, and I’ve got to give it two big thumbs up.

tiltsNumerous ear buds and plastic casings would be available for a totally customizable look and feel… and it would come with a wrist band, which would house the unit while not in use. The band would hold the headset in place with magnets. When removed from the wristband, the unit would automatically detect this and turn itself on. Cool.

Well done, Ryan. More images below.

MiLi Power pack for iPhone gives lesson on how to do accessories right!

mili firebox MiLi Power pack for iPhone gives lesson on how to do accessories right!

Gosh darn it, this is one seriously good-looking accessory – and it’s packing tech features too!

Firebox have emailed me to let me (and now you too) about the MiLi iPhone Power pack charger, that not only provides a case, but in-built battery too:

iPhones rule. End of. Unfortunately all those awesome apps have a habit of sapping the battery. And anyone who worships at the oh-so sleek altar of Apples really can’t be doing with separate batteries and chargers. No, what’s needed is an ultra thin protective case with a built-in battery – and here it is in the shape of the MiLi iPhone Power Pack.
The MiLi is a rechargeable (via USB) external battery concealed inside a svelte protective hard-shell case, and it offers twice, yes twice, the battery life of the iPhone alone – up to 390 hours standby time. Waddya think of them apples!
Crafted in über tough plastic, the snug fitting MiLi has all the trimmings you’d expect to find in a top end charger/case and even some extra gravy in the form of several ingenious features. For starters, clever design means you can sync your iPhone with iTunes and charge it via USB while it’s still snuggled up inside the MiLi. Think of it as a power ‘suit’ for your favourite gizmo.

Talking of gravy, you’d have to be a right pud not to appreciate the value of this gorgeously designed accessory as it’s also capable of charging other USB-friendly devices. Simply plug your gadgets iinto the MiLi’s ‘out’ socket and let its 2000mAh lithium polymer battery do the rest. Flash Harry Bigbuttons can even charge two iPhones at the same time.

The MiLi continues to cut the edge in other areas: an integrated LED displays charge status, while smart jiggery-pokery instructs the iPhone to always drain the MiLi’s battery first, so if you do remove your iPhone its battery won’t be sapped. What’s more, once you plug your MiLi-clad iPhone into a USB socket both gizmos will be charged simultaneously. iSay, iSay, iSay!

It’s a hot bit of kit isn’t it! I am trying to source one now for review, but I’d be interested to hear from anyone that does have one already?

Anyway, you can buy one from Firebox here, for the princely sum of £49.95 – bargain!

Plantronics has announced the new Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth earpiece. It’s the latest-gen headset one of the expert companies in the field, and delivers an improved audio experience with advanced AudioIQ2 and WindSmart® technologies, which deliver natural sounding voice in harsh noise environments, coupled with Plantronics’ inbound audio quality, comfort, and durability.
“Consumers expect great outbound noise cancellation in a premium headset, but they are tired of sacrificing usability, comfort, and quality,” said Stuart Bradshaw, EMEA Marketing Manager for the Plantronics Mobile Division “At Plantronics we have spent nearly five decades perfecting all aspects of headset design from inbound audio quality to fit. For customers seeking the perfect blend of innovative design and advanced audio technologies, the Discovery 975 is the ingeniously simple solution.”
The Discovery 975 features AudioIQ2, the next generation of Plantronics’ AudioIQ digital signal processing (DSP) technology, and two microphones to precisely capture the user’s voice and simultaneously cancel background noise. Users don’t have to worry about pressing special buttons or having sensors touch their face to activate the noise-canceling capabilities — AudioIQ2 works automatically wherever the user is having a conversation.
Plantronics Discovery 975 addresses wind noise with three layers of WindSmart® technology. It features grooved vents on the boom and acoustic fabrics that surround the microphones to block wind. In addition, electronic filters within AudioIQ2 remove wind noise during conversations and help deliver your clear, natural voice to the listener.
The Plantronics Discovery 975 also provides the great inbound audio quality for which Plantronics is known. The earpiece includes an adaptive 20-band equalizer that delivers rich, full voice and works with AudioIQ2 to automatically adjust incoming calls to comfortable listening levels based on the noise level around you.
The Discovery 975 also comes with an improved rechargeable carrying case (see pic) that can triple talk time from 5 hours to up to 15 hours while protecting and storing the earpiece. The new case includes an LCD screen that displays the battery and earpiece charge levels, as well as Bluetooth connectivity.
