Samsung Glass to rock augmented reality keyboard?

We’ve already heard that Samsung is looking to enter the smart glass market later this year with the rumored Galaxy Gear Glass debuting in September, during IFA in Berlin. While that’s still a rumor, we do think it makes perfect sense for the Korean giant to take this route. And now we have one patent application to show you what Korean engineers are working on. Instead of relying on voice input, Sammy is looking to use augmented reality technology, projecting keyboard and other UI elements on one’s hand. The camera Read more

Intel acquires smart watch maker Basis for $100-$150 million

We know Intel is looking to join the smart watch craze at some point this year. While we don’t have the firm date on when that will happen, we do know they’re working on small, power-efficient chips as we speak. That, apparently, is not enough as they still miss some expertise to create this product. Luckily that could be bought with money; and that’s exactly what Intel is doing, having acquired Basis, maker of the health-focused smart watch in a deal worth anywhere between $100 and $150 million. Basis is Read more

If you own the Nexus 7, you may want to have an “appropriate charger” to go with it. The cables can be messy, right? Asus knows this, hence it released official chargers for Google’s 7-inch tablet. You can choose between wired and wireless options with the latter (obviously) costing more money. That said, even the wired charger isn’t cheap – it costs $50 at Amazon, and if you order it today you won’t get it before 2-4 weeks.
