T-Mobile brings wireless charging to MyTouch 3G

T-Mobile and PureEnergy Solutions have teamed up to bring its WildCharge technology for a wire-free charging option for the MyTouch 3G. The MyTouch Drop and Go Charge Pad is very similar to PowerMat. While you can charge other devices with the Drop and Go Charging Pad, it is specifically for the MyTouch.

The Drop and Go Charging Pad comes with three ‘PowerDiscs’ that allow a user to charge many smartphones and Bluetooth headsets. For the MyTouch 3G, however, it has its own replacement back for the wireless charger. It’s surprising that T-Mobile is still spending so much money on the MyTouch, still. With so many superior devices in the market, they are going to have to play catch up in the Android game. Having the most Android handsets in no way means the best, and I think it maybe would have been better for the Drop and Go Charging Pad to be released as an accessory for the HD2. The MyTouch is not a bad phone, it’s just getting swallowed up by devices like the HD2, and the slew of much better Android devices in the market now.

Dennis Grant, CEO of PureEnergy Solutions had to say, “Consumers are demanding a simple, reliable, and elegant wire-free charging system that works across the board, with multiple devices. We’re moving towards that goal by making it easy and cost-effective for today’s leading consumer product companies, such as T-Mobile, to license, embed and brand the WildCharge technology, and get it on store shelves quickly,” “We have significantly more product on the market, through us and our partners, than any other player in this space and continue to roll out new wire-free charging solutions at a rapid pace.”

Expect to this bad boy to hit the shelves in the next couple weeks. Anyone think they will be picking one up?
