Yahoo! announced late on Wednesday that it is acquiring task manager app Astrid. The service that powers Astrid will continue to operate for the next 90 days and then it will shut down. The company will no longer accept new paid subscriptions and current paid members will receive a refund.
Astrid debuted on Android and rose up the ranks to become one of the top to-do apps for the platform. The company migrated its app to iOS, where it has seen moderate success. Neither Astrid nor Yahoo commented on the future of the service, but we assume it will re-appear as a Yahoo-branded product in the not so distant future.
