Customer satisfaction with iPhone has declined since last year

The American Customer Satisfaction Index scores for cell phones are in for 2013 and a new trend has taken place this year. Same as always and not totally surprising, Apple remains in the lead with the highest customer satisfaction rating thanks to the iPhone. However, the gap is tightening as competition like Samsung and Motorola have gained quite a few points at Apple’s expense. In 2012, Apple had the highest score out of any cell phone manufacturer with an 83. This year, still at the highest, it has actually dropped Read more

Google Files New Media Player with FCC – Could It Be the Next Nexus Q?

We reported last week on the fate of the Nexus Q. The excellent Google Play Music update with all of its streaming content isn’t compatible with the Nexus Q device, effectively making it useless as a media (or at least music) streaming orb and leaving it essentially broken. The Q was introduced at last year’s Google I/O and was designed to allow you to stream content from your phone or tablet to your TV. After  the device failed to garner much interest from consumers and had some initial problems, Google postponed Read more

Square Stand for iPad makes cash registers look dull, stupid

Few days ago, Square unveiled the Square Stand, a specially designed iPad stand with an embedded card reader that creates a fancy alternative to traditional cash registers. We must say the Square Stand + iPad installation reminds us little on the iMac but I guess that was the idea — to piggyback on the proven design Apple fans are used to. In the official press release, Square co-founder Jack Dorsey described the $299 Square Stand as “elegant, fast, affordable and easy to use,” and as such – perfect for any Read more

Nexus Q Won’t Get New Version of Google Play Music

The poor Nexus Q hasn’t been getting much love from Google lately, and may never get any going forward. We recently reported that it wouldn’t get any mention at Google I/O, and now it’s being denied the latest update to Google Play Music and its “All Access” music streaming services. Phandroid received confirmation from a Google liason named Paul that the Nexus Q would not be getting the upgrade: Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. As you noticed, the latest version of Google Play Music isn’t compatible with Read more

A White Nexus 4 Video Appears

A sparkly, white Nexus 4 model was spotted in the wild again. Yesterday’s sighting in the Philippines definitely got us excited. Now the elusive white device has shown up at a conference in Dubai and it was caught on video this time! It’s got a sort of opalescent, reflecting white back, but the front is still black (which is probably disappointing for some folks, but it still looks quite nice). Otherwise it appears to be the same as the current Nexus 4 specs wise, and it was running an older version of Android Read more

White Nexus 4 spotted yet again

While we’re still no closer to official availability of the device, but the Nexus 4 in white has yet again popped up. We first caught a glimpse of the device back in late January, and not much has changed since then. Still, seeing the device dressed in white again gives us hope that we may see it on a wider scale one day. One lucky person in the Philippines nabbed the white Nexus 4 from a buy and sell website, and that’s basically the whole story. While the appearance of Read more

But HTC wants to remind you about one of the best Software features on the device: Blinkfeed. The ad below depicts non-HTC One users “digging” through their phones to find the content they are looking for, with piles of dirt falling at Read more

Review: Designed by M Al13 iPhone 5 bumper case

One thing that phone hardware enthusiasts (like myself) hate most about adding cases to their handsets is the intrusive bulk that comes with it. So naturally, I’m not a big fan of covering up my phone with full body cases or bumpers, however, this case has altered my strong feelings on the subject matter. The case I’m talking about here is the AI13 from a former Kickstarter company by the name of ‘designed by m’. The AI13 is made with a special AeroSpace Aluminium that feels like a feather in Read more

LG Plans On Releasing A Device With A Flexible OLED Screen By End Of 2013

LG has announced via their recent financial results call that it will be releasing a smartphone with a flexible OLED screen by the end of the year, according to The Wall Street Journal. The news was dropped by vice president of LG’s mobile division Yoon Bu-hyun, who claimed that his division was working closely with LG Display to make the flexible screened wonder a reality. Of course, this probably wouldn’t be a completely flexible phone, as the flexible OLED display technology is still in its infancy, and other components such Read more

Apple CEO Tim Cook hints that new iPhone, iPad won’t arrive until fall

Today alongside the large announcements revolving around Apple’s Q2 2013 earnings, Tim Cook spoke briefly about what Apple has in the pipeline. In doing so, he seemingly killed off rumors that there might be new devices this summer. His quote that says it all is: “Our teams are working on new hardware, software, and services that we can’t wait to introduce this Fall and throughout 2014.” Tim Cook does say that some of what’s currently unannounced will arrive “throughout 2014″ but that’s most likely software. Apple’s WWDC is always in Read more
