For a while now it seemed as if HTC had been rather quiet, releasing only the MyTouch 4G recently, but that’s not all they’ve got in their sleeve (cough, 4G Android device, cough)? Judging by the picture above, we may not have much longer to wait to see what HTC has been cooking up. The handset above clearly shows a 4G LTEconnection, but what phone is this we have before us?
While we really have no idea, we’re willing to bet that this phone in fact is the Incredible HD, and while we only see a portion of the device, it certainly seems like it will be a nice, beefed up phone. We know that this isn’t all we’ll be seeing from HTC, but it looks like we won’t be seeing a new HTTC handset debut for the rest of the year, so CES will be the place to be if you want to see what the smartphone maker has been up to lately.
The real story here is not about the device itself, really, but a device that supports Verizon’s LTE network, as we have known about the Incredible HD for sometime now. We’ll be seeing this device in due time, possibly along with a handful of other devices, including Motorola’s Android tablet. While it’s likely not in the cards, we may even see some sort of tablet that the handset maker has been working on at CES, but that’s anyone’s guess, and it certainly looks as if Motorola has first dibs on Honeycomb.
We’re hoping to see more coming from HTC soon, since it seems they may be losing their Android crown to the likes of Samsung and Motorola these days. Could the introduction of the Incredible HD, Shift 4G, and Merge grab everyone’s attention again? We certainly think so. Whether or not they will be able to hold onto that attention is up for debate, but HTC does have a tendency to steal the show. If you don’t remember CTIA earlier this year, Samsung stole the Android crown by announcing the Galaxy S, only to have it stolen right back once HTC announced the EVO.
Can they do it again?
